Max Spaniel is an adorably unconventional dog that you just have to meet! In Funny Lunch, Max Spaniel finds himself doing all that he can to fulfill his customers’ orders in the silly and zany way that only he can. This is a very fun read!

We were given a copy of this book to review and so I gave it to a few kids in the age range of 6-10 to read and they really liked the story. Some of the younger readers really liked that the book was something that they could read with little or no help, yet the older kids still liked it and didn’t feel like they were reading a ‘little kid’ story. The illustrations in this book are wonderful and pull you right into Max’s fun world.

David Catrow is a nationally syndicated editorial cartoonist and the award-wining illustrator of numerous books for children, including Take Me Out of the Bathtub and Other Silly Songs by Alan Katz.
