Easy Chicken Cordon Bleu Recipe and Review
My husband loves Chicken Cordon Bleu-we all do, but I usually avoid making it. Between the time it takes to pound out the chicken breasts, then roll them all, bread each of the breasts and then secure all of the portions, I just do not have the time. Or energy. I hate admitting that but Chicken Cordon Bleu is so much darn work!…then Hellmann’s put their twist the Classic Cordon Bleu with a recipe of their own for Easy Chicken Cordon Bleu and I could not resist the chance to give it a try.
Hellmann’s and chicken make a great team
Through out each of the three Hellmann’s Chicken Change Up recipes we have tried, a few things are consistent: they were all easy, they all cooked up pretty quickly, and the chicken was nice and moist in all three. Of the three, the Succulent Chicken Parmesan was my favorite followed by the Bar B Que Cheddar Crusted Chicken and then this week’s recipe.
Did we enjoy this new twist on Classic Chicken
Yes! The chicken was moist, the chicken was extremely easy to prepare and it was tasty. I wanted this recipe to be my favorite and since it was not, I decided to figure out what I would have done differently? I finally realized that the thing that would have made this a home run for me is a dash of onion powder and seasoning salt added to the chicken right after the Hellmann’s mayonnaise was brushed on. Ham and Swiss are great together, even better with chicken but in my own recipe for Chicken Cordon Bleu, I punch up the seasoning of the chicken to add a little more depth. Next time, I’ll add a little onion powder and seasoning salt and then, for us, it will be perfect.
We used our left overs in breakfast cordon bleu biscuits, but they would have also been great sliced up over a salad!
